Junma expands HMLS capacities

Remscheid, Zhangjiagang (Jiangsu Province),  The Chinese Junma Group is now among the biggest tire cord makers in China after increasing its HMLS capacity by 20 places. The firm now uses 64 HMLS systems, all of which are manufactured by Oerlikon Barmag.

Junma uses the downstream operations of dipping and weaving to turn tyre yarn produced in-house in the titer range of 1100 dtex to 2200 dtex into tyre cable. In record time, Junma and Oerlikon Barmag’s largest HMLS single project to date went into service.

The different yarn standards were accepted in about two weeks. “The speed at which we were able to meet the necessary yarn parameters demonstrates the dependability of our industrial yarn systems,” says Li Jiangang, a process engineer. “Our systems ensure a stable spinning process and consistently generate high-quality yarns; this is made possible by our extensive industry experience.”

This is also known to Wang Hongbin, General Manager at Junma: “We chose Oerlikon Barmag systems when we first entered the HMLS polyester tyre cord manufacturing business in 2008.” Our choice at that time was validated by every expansion phase that followed; we are now certain that Oerlikon Barmag customers.

Advanced HMLS technology for the global tyre industry

Junma sees clear development potential in this area of the automobile sector and distributes its final products to well-known worldwide tyre manufacturers. We opened our first locations outside of China this year. Wang Hongbin adds, “We are planning our first production facility in Thailand for the upcoming year.” In doing so, Junma keeps depending on Oerlikon Barmag’s knowledge. With production speeds of up to 6300 m/min, the Oerlikon Barmag HMLS process performs very well, demonstrating the dependability of the key parts of high-speed godets and winders.
