Meghna Group and Tam Hangers launch sustainable hanger production in Bangladesh
Meghna Group controls 49 per cent of the company, while Tam Hangers owns 51 per cent. With aspirations to grow to 40 machines and create about 500 employment, the project is an investment of US $ 7.5 million. The factory places a strong emphasis on environmentally friendly procedures, such as using solar electricity and reusing existing hangers.
Bangladesh’s exports of hangers came to US $ 30 million last year. This program is in line with worldwide recycling and decarburisation trends and seeks to increase foreign investment. Tam Hangers operates in more than 50 countries and supplies well-known international companies including H&M and Marks & Spencer.
The majority of Bangladesh’s 1,800 packaging and accessory manufacturing plants are situated in Tangail, Narayanganj, and Gazipur. These facilities generated more than 40 product categories during the fiscal year 2022–2023, bringing in over US $ 8.22 billion in total income, of which nearly US $ 1 billion came from direct exports.
